Our Mission

Our Mission

The Slavic American Chamber provides services that facilitate the growth and success of businesses that assist the Slavic American Community throughout the State of California. We provide technical assistance to small businesses in areas of procurement, financing, HR, and other issues that impact the growth and success of our community members. At our core, we value practical community outreach through the use of networking events, social media campaigns, and sharing grant opportunities. Our location at the California State Capitol places us at the heart of ongoing political and legislative issues where we advocate for a better regulatory environment. Currently, our focus is on refugee assistantship, small business support, and issues of health equity.

Slavic American Chamber of Commerce Strategic Plan

Some of our core foci include education, outreach, advocacy, and support. These are vital aspects of our work and can be seen outlined below. Examples of our work include the following:

  1. Partnering with various state and private agencies in an effort to support health equity. This includes community and small business education with emerging health policies.

  2. Maintaining and continuing our Legislative Advocacy program. Continuing planning our Annual Legislative Day, and meetings with elected officials. Increase attendance at the advocacy events.

  3. Developing successful collaborative partnerships with various chambers of commerce, business associations, and CBO’s. Some of our partnerships include the following:

    • IEDC (inclusive economic development council)

    • MBARK (Minority Business Assistance and Recovery Kickstart)

      • SACC (Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce), SBCC (Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce), SHCC (Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce), Hacker Lab, Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, North Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, Del Paso Boulevard Partnership, Florin Road Partnership, Franklin Boulevard Business District, Greater Broadway District, Mack Road Partnership, Oak Park Business District, Power Inn Alliance, The River District, & Stockton Boulevard Partnership.

    • Sacramento County COVID-19 Collaborative

  4. Assisting community members with information that connects them to grants and financial opportunities provided by the U.S. Small Business Administration, State of California, and local agencies. Our work has equipped members with the latest information and counseling necessary to fully optimize the rebound of California’s economy.

  5. Community outreach through the use of consistent educational webinars, social media campaigns, and community events. This work connects community members with resources available. This includes our work with:

    • Refugee services

    • Small business technical assistance

    • Health equity

    • Public health resources

    • Civic engagement (Voter registration & US Census)

    • Translation provided in various Slavic languages

  6. Promoting international trade by developing and receiving business delegations. We have formally hosted members of trade and cultural delegations and exchanges from Eastern Europe. There are significant opportunities for trade and services with our familial, linguistic, and cultural ties to this region. Our chamber has signed an MOU with five other chambers of commerce in the Eastern European region. We continue working to develop and support trade delegations to these countries and look to develop training to these countries in California.
